DC Universe has
introduced a new character that is going
anime, and she is Vixen. Originally from Africa, she will make her new hunting
grounds in Center and Starling cities, the homes of The Flash and Arrow. Arrow
executive producer Marc Guggenheim will oversea the series which is set
to air in the fall on The CW Seed, the network's platform for original digital
content.'
According to DC
Comics, Vixen first appeared in the 1981's "Action Comics" #521, and
she was created by Gerry Conway and Bob Oksner. Vixen is the alter-ego of Mari
Jiwe McCabe.
DC’s History has it that Mari McCabe's parents were the fatal victims of the greed,
corruption, and wanton violence perpetrated by local criminal lords. However,
the orphaned Mari refused to succumb to the terrors surrounding her. Inheriting
her family's Tantu, Mari can access the powers of such animals as the
super-strength of a gorilla to the speed of a cheetah. As Vixen, she fights
valiantly to protect the world from evil threats like those that claimed the
lives of her family."
