According to the Anime News Network,  the stage play adaptation of Hiro Mashima's Fairy Tail manga was approved back in December 2015. Although there is no word as to whether the play will reach U.S. shores, I thought it would be nice to see the cast in costume. The play will run at the Sunshine Theatre in Ikebukuro, Tokyo from April 30 to May 9.

Akiko Kodama (Live Spectacle Naruto stage play director) will direct the production and pen the script.

The Angry Birds Movie

Friday, May 20 , 2016 Nationwide Release

In the 3D animated comedy, The Angry Birds Movie, we'll finally find out why the birds are so angry.
The movie takes us to an island populated entirely by happy, flightless birds – or almost entirely. In this paradise, Red (Jason Sudeikis, We're the Millers, Horrible Bosses), a bird with a temper problem, speedy Chuck (Josh Gad in his first animated role since Frozen), and the volatile Bomb (Danny McBride, This is the End, Eastbound and Down) have always been outsiders. But when the island is visited by mysterious green piggies, it’s up to these unlikely outcasts to figure out what the pigs are up to.

Featuring a hilarious, all-star voice cast that includes Maya Rudolph (Bridesmaids, Sisters), Bill Trainwreck, Inside Out), and Peter Dinklage ("Game of Thrones"), as well as Kate McKinnon ("Saturday Night Live," Ghostbusters), Sean Penn (Milk, Mystic River), Tony Hale (Veep, Arrested Development), Keegan-Michael Key (Key & Peele), Hannibal Buress (Daddy’s Home, "Broad City"), Ike Barinholtz (Neighbors, Sisters), Tituss Burgess ("Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt"), Jillian Bell (22 Jump Street), Billy Eichner ("Billy on the Street"), Danielle Brooks ("Orange is the New Black"), YouTube stars Smosh (Ian Hecox and Anthony Padilla), Latin music sensation Romeo Santos, and country music superstar Blake Shelton, who co-writes and performs the original song "Friends." The film also features brand new music from Demi Lovato, Charli XCX, Matoma, and Steve Aoki. The Columbia Pictures/Rovio Animation film is directed by Fergal Reilly and Clay Kaytis and produced by John Cohen and Catherine Winder. The screenplay is by Jon Vitti, and executive produced by Mikael Hed and David Maisel. -- Source: Sony

Sega's Live-Action Sonic Movie Looks To be A Sure Thing For 2018

It would appear from some of the posts that I have read recently that the Sega's Sonic franchise has suffered some setbacks. However, Sega is attempting to boost more interest in their iconic speedy blue dynamo, Sonic, a character that has entertained many generations of kids, teens, and yes, adults since its first trade name video game hit to stores back in 1991. Due to  the success of that video game, it was followed by its first two animated series, 'Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog' and 'Sonic the Hedgehog' in 1993. Reportedly, Sega is now in the developmental stages of a brand new, and if these reports are correct, live-action Sonic movie scheduled for release in 2018.

According to a 2014, June 10th announcement, the live-action Sonic movie is being produced by
Neal Moritz on his 'Original Film' banner alongside Takeshi Ito and Mie Onishi. Toby Ascher is the executive producer, and the film is being written by Evan Susser and Van Robichaux. It will be a joint producing venture between Sony Pictures and Marza Animation Planet. The film will be a live-action and CGI hybrid.

Due to the Coronavirus Crisis some of the New issues of Manga, Animes Series and Live-Action Films debut dates features on the Widescreen Online Review websites are either rescheduled or closed down until further notice.
