Sega's Live-Action Sonic Movie Looks To be A Sure Thing For 2018

It would appear from some of the posts that I have read
recently that the Sega's Sonic franchise has suffered some setbacks. However,
Sega is attempting to boost more interest in their iconic speedy blue dynamo, Sonic,
a character that has entertained many generations of kids, teens, and yes, adults
since its first trade name video game hit to stores back in 1991. Due to the success of that video game, it was followed
by its first two animated series, 'Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog' and 'Sonic
the Hedgehog' in 1993. Reportedly, Sega is now in the developmental stages of a
brand new, and if these reports are correct, live-action Sonic movie scheduled
for release in 2018.
According to a 2014, June 10th announcement, the live-action
Sonic movie is being produced by
Neal Moritz on his 'Original Film' banner
alongside Takeshi Ito and Mie Onishi. Toby Ascher is the executive producer,
and the film is being written by Evan Susser and Van Robichaux. It will be a
joint producing venture between Sony Pictures and Marza Animation Planet. The
film will be a live-action and CGI hybrid.
